THERMOCOUPLE CABLES

Connections between thermocouples and devices are made with thermocouple compensation cables. These cables are called special cables. Thermocouple elements of compensation cables consist of close special alloys. So, the emission propulsive force (EMR) is correctly transmitted. For a Fe-Konst thermocouple, Fe-Konst alloy compensation cable must be used. The temperature data defined by the compensation cables is transferred to the device in a more economical way. Compensation cables provide the same mV-temperature characteristics as the same thermocouples with same characteristics up to 200 ° C with the same feature. When one end of the thermocouple compensation cable is welded, it is seen that the mV value produced by the same type of thermocouple up to 200 ° C is the same value from the other end. Therefore, the mV value generated by compensation cables is limited to 200 ° C. For this reason, the terminal or thermocouple head to which the compensation cable and thermocouples are connected cannot exceed 200 ° C. If it does, it will make an erroneous measurement as much as the difference.

Since Compensation Cables provide the Mv properties of the thermocouple element wire used, up to a certain temperature, the cold point of the thermocouple is not the ends of the thermocouple element wire in the terminal box, but the other ends of the compensation cables connected to the terminal. When the thermocouple is connected to the other device with a copper cable, if the temperature at the point of connection to the device and the temperature in the thermocouple head are different from each other, the measurement will be incorrect as much as this temperature difference. Compensation cables between the thermocouple and the device should be used to make accurate measurements.
