Thermocouples

Straight Type Thermocouples

Straight type thermocouples are commonly used temperature sensors from -200°C to 2320°C in different processes. Process conditions should be determined carefully for long-term usage of thermocouples. So, thermocouple elements, isolator, if necessary sheath material should be selected correctly. Detailed information about thermocouple selection is available in ORDEL catalog.
THERMOCOUPLE : DIN 43710 ve IEC 584
SHEATH MATERIAL:DIN and AISI standardized metal, DIN 40685 ceramic
HEAD : DIN 43729 A Type B Type poured head. IP67 secured
Straight Type Thermocouples

OT01

Metal steath. A or B type heads can be used dependent on the diameter of sheath. They have no record or steath. If they are neccesary, their info is added to special condition part. Element wire is installed into metal pipe as welded. They have no inset. Straight Type Thermocouples

OT02

These types of thermocouples have ceramic protecting tubes. KER-610, KER-530 and KER-799 ceramic tubes which are used in high temperatures are connected to head with a metal pipe. If neccesary, flange and mounting bush may be assebled. Thermocouples immersion length is placed just below the head. Straight Type Thermocouples

OT03

These types of thermocouples are inset type. They have metal steaths and mouting bush. Head-mounting bush distance is 120mm. Standard mounting bush is ½. They are preffered in some processes that requires a meaningful distance between head and connecting point. Straight Type Thermocouples

OT04

Only difference from OT03 is the length of head-record that is 145mm Straight Type Thermocouples

Angle Type Thermocouples

Angle type thermocouples are used to measure the temperature of liquid metals and salt baths. Main reason is to protect the thermocouple head from temperature and corrosion in bath. That is because the head is uncovered in the environment.

OT06

According to the process type, protecting tubes like cilicon carbaide or refrax are used. In assembly, protecting tube is connected to the head of thermocouple with a strong connector. It is better to put the thermocouple above the salt bath or metal solution pits. Otherwise, corrosive gases and high temperature may damage connecting point. At standard production, for a log term usage of thermocouple, a secondary cermic tube is placed into the protecting tube as primer (KER-610 (P) KER-799(A)) Angle Type Thermocouples

Small Insert Type Thermocouples

Bayonet type thermocouples are generally preferred for simple processes. They have fixed wires. They are installed by spring compression. Mineral Insulated Thermocouples

Mineral Insulated thermocouples are widely used in temperature range of -40°C to +1600°C in different type of processes. Odd or even element thermocouple wires are isolated by compressing into a metal sheath with high pure metal oxide dust.
In the ORDEL catalog, mineral insulated thermocouples that are used to a temperature of 1200°C are examined.
Because they are small and twistable, they are preferred in many processes and portable applications.
They are used in various machines, tanks, pipelines, laboratory applications, environment of air, water, oil or gas, power plants, pressured containers, reactors and chemistry industry.
Because they are twistable, they can be used like a wire in the limits of its temperature. They are used in tunnel ovens to measure the temperature of a movable material or to measure the temperature distribution inside oven.
